Turns out to be last call for Republican Party Candidate Fred Dalton Thompson
“You don’t have to go home; you just can’t stay here.”

Fred who?

Although Mr. Thompson did say that “if he didn’t do well in South Carolina, that might
be the end.
So be it. A few hours ago he released a statement announcing
that he was quitting the race for the Republican nomination.

Fred Thompson statement:

Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United
States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our
having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the
encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.

I think that Mr. Thompson would have given more if this was a role in a movie.
From the beginning of his candidacy announcement he did not seem to be excited.
Like a he missed a flight. Even though he first was
wooed by the unhappy conservatives who had no great choice in the field to pick from.
He had delayed getting involved until late summer early fall. Fred Thompson
was unable to raise much money for his campaign.
He didn’t seem like he was getting involved.
No enthusiasm at his own debates, deeming a dead campaign trail.

Even though it was hopeful that he would do better in the South, last Saturday’s
primary was a big test. Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson were grasping on to the same
conservative base. Placing third in there, with a little more than 15
percent of the vote. John McCain won the Palmetto State and Mr.
Huckabee came in second.

He did have a memorable moment as a campaigner: his
“hands-down” attitude at the Des Moines Register’s debate in December,
when he declined to participate. Followed by his fellow G.O.P. rivals.
A salute to the questions about the huge issue on GLOBAL WARMING.

A campaign slogan for the bus. Should have been involved from the beginning Mr. Thompson.

I think that if want to be apart of some thing you need to be involved from the beginning.
Just like a script for a movie: The Hunt for Red October, or Law and Order.
